Anime Netflix Recommendations

I’ve been watching anime for a while now and realized that there’s more to them than being a kid’s show. The truth is that they’re not all designed for children to watch. Some animation studios created them to cater to adults. Also, there are many of these shows streaming on Netflix right now. I tried binge-watching some of them and ended up being happy with my decision. Why? Some of them taught me more about matters relating to reality and survival.

As part of my training to improve my preparedness, from time to time, I find things for inspiration. Some of what I recently found are anime shows. They taught me how to better respond to demanding situations. Also, they illustrated what usually happens then so well. So here are what I learned a lot from and I hope you enjoy watching them too.

Kengan Ashura

This anime is all about fighting. It does incorporate themes of politics and corporate business but centers on combat. From time to time, the show demonstrates the pros and cons of different martial arts styles. The show exhibits its practical application.
Some of the protagonists here may seem bloodthirsty. But at least it illustrates the side of human nature. After all, during confrontations, one has to show initiative to be ruthless. Aside from that, this anime also teaches about human anatomy in the way that it applies to life and fighting.

It’s not based on real-life events. Yet it helps people see what happens in the streets and during tournaments. The brutality is there which makes it a good material for those learning self-defense.

Survival of the fittest.

Attack on Titan

In most of the episodes of this anime, you’ll see characters flying around. They use a fictional device called the vertical maneuvering equipment to fight in a 3D space. Though this is likely not applicable in real life, there are many things to learn from this show.

Here, the characters are under constant pressure. That is to survive, keep their connections to one another, and seek the truth. How they made the emotions for and responses of the people so real are very impressive. This is to say that it shows how some freeze due to shock under extreme stress. It also emphasizes that many react well when faced with emergencies.

You won’t get lessons on wielding weapons with this one. But, sure enough, you’ll understand crisis management. Still, you’ll also know which areas of the body are vulnerable to attacks. The character named Captain Levi almost always takes down the Titans in the same way. He hits not only the nape but also joints.

Be brave because you have to.

Highschool of the Dead

It’s a worthwhile series that unfortunately didn’t continue due to the author’s demise. Still, the first season is worthy enough of praise. It covers the possibility of what could happen during a pandemic. In this case, a virus turns people into monsters or zombies. Don’t worry about the ending of this 12-episode series because it’s conclusive the way it is.

This is a great survival anime. That would be considering that it does tackle the different aspects of survivalism. It includes self-defense with weapons, evasion tactics, and finding shelter. It’s merciless in the sense that there’s no telling which characters end up dead next. Although it does have a sense of brutality to it, it proves to be educational.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

For me, a lot of people don’t give it as much appreciation as it deserves. It is informative and entertaining altogether. It displays what the different elements can do and shows it through “bending” skills. The series starts by showing how the Aang, the Avatar, is the last air bender. Throughout the show, the characters evade and learn new fighting skills. There’s even the part wherein a protagonist manages to achieve true peace of mind. If you very well know, it’s important to have peace of mind or calmness during troubled times. This show may teach you to do that.

Face the elements.

Japan Sinks: 2020

When it comes to surviving a catastrophic event, you’ll learn a lot from this show. The series will allow you to see how it is to manage during and after an earthquake and then a flood. Watching things gives you the feeling that you don’t know what will happen next so you should prepare.

This emphasizes that a calamity can hit a place at any given time. This means that responding well is the best thing that a person can do after emergencies. It also highlights how some people manage to cope while others are unable to adjust well at all.
